Carbohydrate Antigen CA15-3 is a glycoprotein tumor marker closely associated with breast cancer and serves as a core reference indicator for clinical breast disease management. The general normal reference range is 0–25 U/mL, although some laboratories set the upper limit between 30–35 U/mL.

CA15-3 is a specific biomarker for breast cancer. Approximately 30%–50% of patients at initial diagnosis present with significantly elevated levels, while the positivity rate can reach 70%–80% in advanced or metastatic cases. It is widely used to evaluate therapeutic efficacy and monitor for postoperative recurrence or metastasis. Levels exceeding 100 U/mL often indicate the presence of distant metastases. Elevated CA15-3 levels may also be observed in other malignancies, including ovarian, lung, and pancreatic cancers.
