AccuSift provides high-performance antibody pairs for Glial Fibrillary Acidic Protein (GFAP) with exceptional lot-to-lot consistency. Optimized for IVD kit development (Lateral Flow, CLIA, ELISA, POCT), these antibodies offer high affinity and specificity to facilitate rapid detection.
Glial Fibrillary Acidic Protein (GFAP) is a type III intermediate filament protein primarily found in the cytoskeletal structure of astrocytes. GFAP is a protein specific to astrocytes and plays a crucial role in maintaining cell morphology and stability. When astrocytes proliferate or become activated, GFAP expression levels increase significantly. Therefore, GFAP is commonly used as a biomarker for astrocyte proliferation in cases of central nervous system injury.
