Streptococcus pneumoniae is a Gram-positive bacterium. The bacterial cells resemble lancets, appearing as diplococci arranged in pairs or short chains. Virulent strains possess a polysaccharide capsule. Capsular polysaccharide antigens are present within the capsule of Streptococcus pneumoniae. Based on the antigenic differences of the capsular polysaccharides, Streptococcus pneumoniae is classified into 84 serotypes, among which serotypes 1–3 are highly virulent and primarily cause lobar pneumonia in humans.
AccuSift offers high-performance Streptococcus pneumoniae antibody pairs, featuring excellent lot-to-lot consistency and optimized for IVD kit development (lateral flow, chemiluminescence, ELISA, POCT). With high affinity and high specificity, they facilitate rapid detection.
