Specific interference is primarily caused by heterophilic antibodies (human anti-animal antibodies), which can lead to significant false-positive or false-negative results. According to reports, such interference can occur in 30-40% of patient samples. These heterophilic antibodies can be IgAs, IgEs, IgGs, IgMs, or Ig(n). They may exist as polymers or monomers and vary widely in concentration. However, all of them directly target the specific antibodies used in the detection system.

Since most immunoassays employ monoclonal mouse antibodies, human anti-mouse antibodies (HAMA) are the primary cause of assay interference.
Interference elimination is a critical task in the development of immunoassay kits. Achieving higher sensitivity, greater precision, and more convenient operation in detection systems requires effective interference elimination.
The design of the assay significantly impacts interference elimination. For example, IgG1 detection requires elimination of IgG1 interference, just as IgG2a detection requires elimination of IgG2a interference. HBR3 is an IgG1 monomer blocking agent.
HBR3 can eliminate HAMA, rheumatoid factor (RF), and other heterophilic interferences that may cause false-positive or false-negative results.
