Estriol is a natural estrogen compound. It is primarily used to treat symptoms of urogenital atrophy caused by estrogen deficiency, including vaginal dryness, dyspareunia, and urinary incontinence. It is also used for perioperative management in postmenopausal women undergoing vaginal surgery. Its short-acting estrogenic activity has minimal stimulatory effects on the endometrium; a single recommended dose does not induce endometrial proliferation and does not require concurrent progestin therapy.
