Biotin NHS is an amino-reactive biotin reagent used for preparing biotinylated surfaces or peptides. Biotin NHS is an amine-reactive biotinization reagent that can effectively combine with primary amines (-NH2) to form stable and irreversible amide bonds. When used, it is generally dissolved in dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) or dimethylformamide (DMF), and after dissolution, it can be further diluted in an aqueous buffer without amines.

Do not use buffers containing primary amines (such as Tris or glycine), as competitive reactions may occur.
