5-Hydroxyindoleacetic acid (5-HIAA) is the primary metabolite of serotonin. Serving as a key biomarker for Neuroendocrine Tumors (NETs), it is quantitatively measured in blood or, more commonly, in 24-hour urine collections. In cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), it reflects the metabolic activity of the central serotonergic system; fluctuations in its concentration are associated with cerebral ischemic injury and hepatic encephalopathy. Notably, test results can be significantly influenced by dietary intake of hydroxyindole-rich foods (e.g., bananas, avocados) and certain medications, such as reserpine.
AccuSift provides high-performance competitive antibody pairs for 5-HIAA detection. These reagents offer exceptional inter-batch consistency and are optimized specifically for IVD kit development, including lateral flow assays, chemiluminescence, ELISA, and POCT platforms. Featuring high affinity and high specificity, they enable rapid and reliable detection.
