Fluazinam is a pyridine carboxamide fungicide classified as FRAC Group 21. It inhibits fungal energy synthesis by targeting the cytochrome bc1 complex (Qi site) in the mitochondrial electron transport chain. It blocks pathogen energy production and exhibits no cross-resistance with QoI fungicides (methoxyacrylates), making it suitable for resistance management. It is used on over 30 crops, including cereals (wheat, barley), sugar beets, oilseed rape, grapes, and turf, to control ascomycete diseases such as powdery mildew, anthracnose, leaf blight, and gray mold.
