AccuSift provides high-performance competitive immunoassay antibody pairs for Paracetamol (Acetaminophen) with exceptional lot-to-lot consistency. Optimized for IVD kit development (Lateral Flow, CLIA, ELISA, POCT), these antibodies offer high affinity and specificity to facilitate rapid detection.
Paracetamol (Acetaminophen) is an active metabolite of phenacetin. It reduces fever and relieves pain by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis in the hypothalamic temperature-regulating center. It is commonly used to alleviate headache, toothache, menstrual pain, muscle pain, and other common pains, as well as to reduce fever caused by colds, flu, or other illnesses. Because it is less irritating to the stomach, it is generally considered safer than other over-the-counter analgesics, especially for children and pregnant women. Unlike other common analgesics such as aspirin and ibuprofen, paracetamol has low anti-inflammatory activity, making it a safer alternative for those who cannot use non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). However, overdose can lead to serious side effects, particularly liver damage. Therefore, it is essential to strictly follow dosing guidelines and avoid concurrent use with other medications containing paracetamol. In the list of carcinogens published by the World Health Organization's International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) on October 27, 2017, paracetamol is classified as Group 3 (not classifiable as to its carcinogenicity to humans).
