AccuSift provides high-performance teicoplanin competitive assay pairings, characterized by exceptional batch-to-batch consistency and optimized for IVD kit development (Lateral Flow, Chemiluminescence, ELISA, POCT). These pairings offer high affinity and specificity, facilitating rapid detection.

Teicoplanin shares the same mechanism of action as vancomycin, interfering with the synthesis of new components in bacterial cell wall peptidoglycan. It acts by binding to the D-alanyl-D-alanine portion of peptidoglycan subunits, effectively "hiding" the sites normally recognized by bacterial transpeptidases and carboxypeptidases for cell wall elongation and cross-bridge formation. This binding inhibits two critical steps: the elongation of peptidoglycan chains and the final transpeptidation step that incorporates new subunits into the cell wall. Consequently, the integrity and stability of the cell wall are compromised, leading to cessation of bacterial growth and eventual cell death.
